Analyse de la consommation d'oxygène (VO₂) et de la production de dioxyde de carbone (VCO₂) pendant l'exercice.

1. Definition

The MetaLyzer 3B is a portable spiroergometry system operating in breath-by-breath mode.

It provides precise analysis of respiratory, cardiac, and metabolic functions, both at rest and during exercise.

2. Sensors and Measurements

  1. Oxygen (O₂) Sensor
  • Type: Electrochemical cell (fuel cell).
  • Measurement range: 0 – 100% vol.
  • Accuracy: ± 0.1%.
  • Response time (T90): < 100 ms.

2.2 Carbon Dioxide (CO₂) Sensor

  • Type: NDIR (Non-Dispersive Infrared).
  • Measurement range: up to 13% vol.
  • Accuracy: ± 0.1%.
  • Response time (T90): < 100 ms.

  1. Flow / Respiratory Volume
  • Max measurable flow: 14 – 20 L/s (depending on the sensor).
  • Low flow resistance for optimal comfort.

3. Power and Autonomy

  • USB power or optional internal battery.
  • Battery life: approx. 12 hours of continuous use.
  • LED indicators for operation and connectivity status.

4. Connectivity and Integration

  • PC Connection: USB or Bluetooth.
  • External sensors via Bluetooth LE:

Heart rate (HR).  Oxygen saturation (SpO₂).  Power meters.

  • ECG: Integrates various models (up to 12 leads).
  • Operating software: MetaSoft Studio for data acquisition, processing, and analysis.

5. Operating Conditions

  • Ambient temperature: +10 to +35 °C.
  • Relative humidity: up to 95% non-condensing.
  • Atmospheric pressure: 500 – 1050 mbar.

6. Dimensions and Weight

  • Weight: approx. 940 g.
  • Dimensions: 240 × 210 × 90 mm.
  • Compact and portable design.

7. Maintenance and Calibration

  • Gas calibration: approx. once a month.
  • O₂ sensor replacement: approx. every 18 months (depending on use).
  • Consumables: filters, mouthpieces, masks of different sizes, sampling lines.

8. Areas of Application

  • Measurement of maximal oxygen consumption (VO₂max).
  • Cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET).
  • Physical fitness evaluation for athletes.
  • Clinical and medical studies (cardiology, pulmonology, metabolism).
